This is why Seattle was the perfect setting for Dark Angel:

That was interesting. I had no idea. I don't see how that really is the reason for Dark Angel taking place there. Seattle is cold and dark, seems like the place to set the third world United States. I guess the fact that it is shady would make it the location for the show.

And the space needle- it just would not have been Dark Angel without the neede. And Seattle as the whole really worked for the setting of Dark Angel

I don't know. I think you could just find any reason to fit with the pick of the city of Seattle. If it was set in Chicago, we could also find reasons, etc.. You see my point?

yes, i agree. and seattle, with the skyline and all this high buildigs...
its great to show the diffrence between ritch and poor people between penthouse and tent.
dark angel shows the usa and seattle in poorness. and yes, i think tht's the reason... the extreme picture of the difference.

It is indeed a good landscape for such a show! I'm sure other cities would do as well. Who knows, even in Canada!

Weather is one of the most important characters in movies it expresses the mood of the movie or TV show and rain is perfect for dark movies or when filming a combat scene. And we all know that Seattle has a lot of rain. But yeah the wilderness around it also makes it perfect for Max to escape sometimes from dark city into wild sanctuary.
